Digitization Blogs – US Market
Are you interested in learning more on the state of digitization, Ebooks, and digital book publishing in the US? Check the AECB website for blogs written by AECB consultant Michael Jensen. Mr. Jensen has been at the interface between digital technologies and publishing since the late 1980s. The information provided will help Canadian publishers effectively position themselves to take advantage of the increasingly borderless world of ebook publishing.

Digitization Blogs – France Market
Consultants Marie-Anne and Isabelle Lambert are currently producing a series of blogs on the AECB website. The objective of these blogs is to inform Canadian publishers of developments in digital technology as experienced by book publishers in France, highlighting the major business models they have developed.
It is widely agreed, with a few minor exceptions, that the digital book has not yet reached its full potential, either as a product or a market. These blogs will focus on aspects of existing business models or those still under development that the author feels are most relevant and easily transferrable to a North American context. Reports are based on:
- the current situation in France, realizing that it is very volatile and this snapshot will need to be updated every 6 months over the next two or three years;
- the players most actively involved, with a focus on several publishers already in the forefront of digital technology and/or with a strong commitment to this field;
- major trends in each publishing sector: emerging business and economic models.
Please note that currently, the option to respond to these blog posts is not possible. The AECB is working towards developing an improved blog. When the AECB’s blog is up and running, responding will be enabled and we look forward to a robust dialogue at that time.
