Mentoring

MENTORING – USA 2011-2012

Aimed at the specific needs of emerging exporters, the Mentoring Program helps eligible publishers become familiar with export sales, meet with stakeholders in target markets, and properly evaluate the efforts needed to penetrate these markets. The program alternates yearly between the US and Francophone Europe.

The objective of the Mentoring Program – USA 2011-2012 is to provide a group of eligible publishers of English-language books export expertise to help them familiarize themselves with export activities in general (examination and evaluation of their export potential, promotional activities, distribution mechanisms) and with the US market in particular. This program will allow eligible publishers to increase their export knowledge, meet with stakeholders in the US market, and properly evaluate the efforts needed to export their titles into this market.

MENTORING – FUNDING SUPPORT

The Mentoring – Funding Support program was launched in 2007 as a means to give publishers an opportunity to benefit from knowledge and expertise gained through their participation in Livres Canada Books’ Mentoring Program. Funding support allows publishers to implement marketing strategies targeted at the select export markets. The objective is to help small and emerging exporters increase sales to these markets and become eligible for supplementary assistance through the Canada Book Fund.
